[ARCHIVED] Dinosaurs After Dark Evening Event at Cape Fear Museum

Cape Fear Museum of History and Science presents Museum After Dark: Dinos on Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 6 to 9 p.m. Enjoy an evening event where adult guests (18+) can channel their inner dinosaur. Some of the activities for the evening include: 

  • Take a quiz to reveal your dinosaur personality
  • Participate in a T-Rex basketball challenge
  • Build a Pterosaur and fly it into a nest
  • Test your dino knowledge at our trivia station
  • Have fun creating Paleo Art
  • Take pictures at the selfie station
  • And more!

During the event, guests are also invited to explore our newest traveling exhibition, Dinosaurs Take Flight.

“Who doesn’t love dinosaurs,” roared dino enthusiast and education manager Amy Thornton, “this adult only event will be an evening where our visitors can be creative, challenge their friends, and have prehistoric fun.”

Advance tickets are now available for Museum After Dark, $12 for members and $15 for non-members. Tickets may be purchased at the Museum admission desk or by using this online link to buy tickets now. Tickets may also be purchased at the door on Thursday, January 26 for $18. Slice of Life Pizza, Mocktails by Mocksie, Beer and Wine will be available for purchase during the event. 

Museum After Dark is an 18 and over event sponsored by Cape Fear Museum Associates, Inc. 

Museum fundraising efforts are governed by Cape Fear Museum Associates, Inc. (CFMA), a nonprofit 501(c)(3). CFMA’s purpose is to solicit and receive contributions and donations for the Museum. CFMA ensures the success of the Museum through fundraising, grant writing, programs, membership and promoting the Museum’s mission throughout the community.

Cape Fear Museum of History and Science, a Smithsonian Affiliate, is located at 814 Market Street and is open Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. Standard admission prices are $8 for adults; $7 for seniors, students and military with valid ID; $5 for children 6-17; and free for children 5 and under and for museum members. New Hanover County residents’ free day is the first Sunday of each month. Cape Fear Museum is also a proud partner of Museums for All and offers free admission to SNAP benefit recipients when they present an EBT card. More information: www.capefearmuseum.com.
